The family owned Champagne house of Bonnaire was founded in 1932 and comprises 22 acres. It is situated in the village of Cramant, a beautiful corner of Epernay in the heart of Côte des Blancs. It derives the reputation of its wines from this soil where the Chardonnay grape reigns supreme. Unsurprisingly the area is well known for its many famous Champagne houses. Out of respect for this beautiful origin, the work of the vineyard has always occupied the spirits and days of the winemakers of the house. Today’s challenge is in how to grow grapes and how soils are treated throughout the year. Vineyard management is thus at the center of all attention.
Vinification & Terroir
The wine is matured on stainless steel tanks for 9 months. The wine then goes through a secondary fermentation and matured for 72 months on the lees.
With grapes (100% Chardonnay) from one of the best Chardonnay villages, this Champagne is 100% crispy with a lovely concentration. Clear tones of lemon, yellow apples along with roasted brioche make this Champagne exceptionally good as an aperitif alternatively with seafood entrees.
