History
Charles Heidsieck was born in 1822. He founded his Champagne house at 29 years old. It was the first Champagne house to chaunch their wines in America where Mr. Heidsieck got the nickname “Champagne Charlie”. When he travelled to the south during the war in 1861 he got caught, accused of being a French spy. He was released in 1862 thanks to Napoleon III and Abraham Lincoln.
Charles Heidsieck started on the hard work that has led the champagne house to create some of the world’s best champagnes today. 6 years go it was bought by the Descours family who has put in great efforts to ensure that Charles Heidsieck remains among the very best Champagnes.
