History
Pierre Usseglio is one of the most well regarded producers in Châteauneuf du Pape. They own 24 hectars of vineyards with some of the best locations in the region. The various locations boast four different types of terroir which has great impact on the complexity in the wines. There are lime-rich, cool locations as well as dry, warm sandy soil.
Vinification and terroir
The wine is matured in concrete tanks for 6 months prior to being bottled. The vineyards are divided into 4 different terroirs which gives the wine great complexity. The vines are old – many are between 65 and 100 years old, resulting in wines of great quality but with smaller yield.
