History
A lot has happened since 2003 when the vineyards at Exton Park were planted with the same grape varieties as in Champagne. Mr. Malcolm Isaac acquired the property in 2009 and have made many improvements since then. Everything is done by hand in the vineyards and at harvest, the reason for this is to always safe guard the quality of the grapes. A strategy that has paid off; today Exton Park proudly produces some of the absolutely best sparkling wines in the UK.
Winemaking & terroir
The grapes come from nine different vineyards that make up the property. The Reserve Blend is made from 80% reserve wines from the cellars, these wines can be up to 10 years old. The grape juice is first fermented on stainless steel tanks and then a second time once bottled. The wine is then rested on its lees for three years prior to degorgement.
Flavour profile
This wine truly mirrors its origin and unique terroir of chalky soil. It is fresh and generous with notes of baked lemons and passionfruit, but there are also hints of red berries that stems from the Pinot Noir. Notes of brioche and nuts that comes from the maturity of the wine. The flavour is balanced, has a fine structure and a lovely minerality and long finish.
