Joseph Drouhin started making wine in 1880, and the family has since then continued the production in his spirit with respect for the diversity of Burgundy wines. It is now the fourth generation, with Véronique Drouhin as the winemaker, who is making sure that the wines keep their original, elegant style. With wines from 90 different locations around Burgundy in their portfolio, Drouhin makes personal and characteristic wines ranging from crispy Bourgogne Aligoté to complex Grand Crus.
Wine production and terroir
This wine has undergone cold fermentation and then been stored for 5-7 months in stainless steel tanks. The wine is filtered before it is time for bottling. The grapes come mainly from Hautes Côtes de Beaune, Hautes Côtes de Nuits and Côte Châlonnaise.
The bouquet is rich with tones of grapefruit, green apples, citrus and yellow plums. The taste is fresh and elegant with hints of citrus as well as minerality and fudge. The balanced acid lifts the fruit and minerality of the wine all the way to a long aftertaste.
