Kloster Eberbach is the oldest wine producer in Germany; the monks at the monastery planted these vineyards as far back in time as 1136 AD.
The wines from Kloster Eberbach are excellent gastronomy wines where the combinations are unlimited. Together with Bouchard Pére & Fils Kloster Eberbach holds the worlds largest “wine library” with vintages that date back as far as 1706. The vineyards are beautifully located on the steep southern slopes by the river Rhein, an area reknowned for producing world class Riesling wines.
Single Vineyard ”M” comes from the vineyard Marcobrunn which is regarded as one of the best and historically most important vineyards in all of Germany.
Vinification & Terroir
The wine is fermented on steel tanks and then matured for 6-12 months on 50 year old oak barrels of 5000 litres. stora med en ålder av 50 år.
Terroir: Heavy clay with quartz and slate near the river Rhein. The closeness to the water reflects the sun and thus creating a double exposure of the grapes.
Completely dry. The wine has a very deep scent and long after taste. Flavour and scent of ripe citrus fruits and yellow apples with notes of pineapple and peaches.
