History
Massolino has a long history starting in Serralunga d’Alba in 1896. The Massolino family has since then created excellent wines in Piedmont. Massolino is known today as one of the best producers in Piedmont, creting elegant and complex wines with both depth and delicacy.
Winemaking and terroir
The fermentation takes place in 5400 litres oak barrels. Only very old barrels are used in order to minimize the flavour of oak in the wine and to allow the wine to keep the elegant tones of Nebbiolo.
Terroir: A mix of sand, clay and limestone.
Flavour profile
The wine has clear aromas of ripe dark and red berries with hints of rosehip and dried roses as well as elegant spices. The full body is balanced with a freshed acidity.
