Massolino has a long history starting in Serralunga d’Alba in 1896. The Massolino family has since then created excellent wines in Piedmont. Massolino is known today as one of the best producers in Piedmont, creting elegant and complex wines with both depth and delicacy.
Wine production and terroir
The grapes are harvested mid october. The fermentation as well as a short maturation takes place in stainless steel tanks and the wine is bottled in the spring following the harvest. The selection of the grapes, good geographical position of the vineyards and low yielding vines give very high quality grapes. The aim of Massolino is to create a fresh wine with good body and long aftertaste.
The terroir is rich in chalk with sand and clay.
This is a wine that is rich in the fruity tones that are characteristic for the Dolcetto grape. The taste is well-balanced and rich with black cherry, blueberry and violet. It has a pleasant long aftertaste.
