Müller – Reid Göttschelle Grüner Veltliner

Weingut Müller is run by Leo and Stefan Müller and is located in the picturesque Village Krustetten in Austria. The vineyard Göttweiger Berg was recorded as far back as 1270 and has been owned and managed by the  Müller-family down the generations since 1936. The vineyards  (120 ha) stretch from south Kremstal around Göttweiger Berg to Mautern in Wachau. Stefan manages the vineyards passionately and is engaged in sustainable viticulture whilst Leo manages the winery with the philosophy of making wines with pure fruit and finesse.

Weingut Müller are certified in accordance with Sustainable Austria. In that certification sustainable growing is key, but also a wider sustainability plan with social responsibility, energy usage and rubbish management. Thw winery is designed for sustainable wine production. It is built on a 50% slope with three floors so it is possible to use the earths natural temperature regulation and gravitation for the grape management. They also use their own spring water for all the work in the cellars.

The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The terroir is “Loess” – very particular for the area. It consists of petrified sandy soil that’s very porous, giving the wines a clear character.

Flavour profile

The wine offers delicious fresh tropical fruit. The flavour lingers in the mouth and shows a clear minerality and loess-strucure in its viscosity. Fresh finish.
