History

Alberto Antonini is unknown for many despite having been nominated as one of the world’s top 5 winemakers by the magazine Decanter. Mr. Antonini’s aim is to make wines that reflect the origin of the grapes rather than, as is the case for many winemakers, giving the wines a personal touch and he claims to have failed if his wines reflect him as a winemaker rather than the grapes. Mr. Antonini’s wines are clean and focused with great energy.

Winemaking and terroir

The maceration takes place in concrete tanks with natural yeast for 10 days. The wine is then matured for 15 months in oak barrels..

Terroir: Limestone with clay and a high level of iron in the soil.

Flavour profile

This is a wine with clear notes of red cherries with cherry kernels that add a hint of marzipan and a balanced freshness.
