History
Cave Cuilleron is a family business that’s been operating for nearly 100 years. From the very beginning, the family were specialists in the Condrieu area of Northern Rhône. Condrieu is a small wine region where the only grape grown is Viognier and thus only white wines are produced in this region. After some time, the family expanded the business to encompass other locations where other grapes are grown.
Cave Cuilleron has no official stamps or labels stating organic planting, however, the family work to a 100% ecological philosophy, using the natural yeast found in the vineyard for fermentation of all their wines.
Vinification & Terroir
The grapes are harvested by hand and after the pressing of the grapes, the skins are left to remain with the grape juice for 5-6 hours. The wine rests in old oak barrels for 6 months prior to bottling.
Terroir: Granite soils with elements of alluvial soil (which contributes to a certain minerality in the wine).
Flavour Profile
The flavour and aroma is elegant with yellow fruits such as lemons and apples with notes of tropical fruits together with an elegant minerality.
