Weingut Kracher – Beerenauslese Cuvée

History
At Lake Neusidler’s lake in the village of Illmitz on the border with Hungary we find a world star on the sweet wine sky. Alois Kracher, who is the father of the current winemaker Gerhard, created a new style of sweet wines, which in their entirety are based on finesse and balance where acid and sweetness are always in balance. Alois Kracher was also contributing to the great breakthrough for Austrian wines in the 1990s. Unfortunately he went away too early; already in 2007, which caused Gerhard’s son to assume responsibility for wine production, which he did with great enthusiasm.

Winemaking and terroir

Selected grapes are picked by hand and pressed gently. The wine matures with 80% in steel tank and 20% on old French oak barrels for 16 months.
The soil consists mostly of lime-rich clay.

Flavour profile

Flavors of ripe yellow fruits with aromas of pineapple, apricot, honey and mango as well as hints of vanilla in a long finish with high fresh acidity that balances the sweetness beautifully.
